BENVOLIO

Benvolio is a First Year University Student with a youthful energy, but when push comes to shove, he has a grounded maturity. He’s always up for whatever antics his cousin or Mercutio come up with, he’s the first to jump in, but he’s also the first to call it out when something has gone too far. Altruistic and kind, Benvolio is the heart of this adaptation.
MERCUTIO
Female. Playing Age of 19-23. Any Ethnicity.
In her Third Year of University, sensational and always the intense centre of attention, Mercutio seems to somersault through life in a controlled chaos. She is impulsive and emotional, but always with the sharpest wit behind her words. She may be the deepest feeler, but she hides it all with an aloof attitude.

Tybalt always has something to prove. Quick to take offence, and short tempered, Tybalt isn’t a brute, but everything he feels, he feels to the maximum.

Rosaline is a Second Year University Student, who is always the life of any party. In stark contrast to her more shy cousin, she loves to be the centre of attention. She is feisty and sharp, but deeply loyal and protective of those she cares about. She acts as a guide and older sister to her cousin Juliet.
JULIET
Female. Playing Age of 18-20. Any Ethnicity.
Juliet is a First Year University Student who has had a very sheltered Catholic upbringing. She doesn’t put herself out there, but that doesn’t mean she is frail. Juliet doesn’t hesitate to say what she thinks and feels, even if sometimes she quickly wishes she could retract her statements. There is an unrefined grace and gentleness to her.

PETER

Everyone in Peter’s life is so intense and serious, but not him. He’s just enjoying the time he has during his Second Year of University. He is aware and very grateful of his privilege, and makes sure to be generous with what he has. Easy to get on with, and even easier to party with. Peter has a streak of mischief in him, which is only amplified by the intensity of his step-sister Rosaline.
PARIS
Male, Playing Age of 22-25. Any Ethnicity. American Accent.
Paris is an outsider, but he isn’t uncomfortable. Coming from old money, he always knows he’s the richest person in the room, but he never flaunts it. He has a honed maturity, without any of the edges that experience gives. Brought up for the boardroom, Paris knows how to talk business, but he also has a yearning for true connection and feelings.
